Chessie Green, as it is known within the industry, is a two-day event packed full of engaging and informative horticulture education. The symposium will be held on February 18 and 19, 2016 at the same venue as the past twelve annual Chessie symposiums - the Maritime Institute and Conference Center in Linthicum. Come for the great education and enjoy the networking, vendor showcase, and silent auction (to benefit scholarship). The awesome lunch is yours to enjoy, too.
Chessie 2016 Information:
On Day 1, February 18th, John Kennedy, of John Kennedy consulting, will be serving triple duty – presenting the keynote, “Vision, Value, and Volition,” presenting an industry break out session, “Creating a Culture of Sales and Service,” and presenting a plenary wrap-up session which addresses how to take all of the information that is presented at educational events and workshops and turning it into a successful game plan for your business that promotes actionable results.
Following John’s keynote, attendees will have the option of participating in any of four concurrent educational tracks, generally divided into nursery grower, greenhouse grower, landscape contractor, and retail garden center.
These concurrent tracks are full of industry relevant information for all levels of employees as well as new dynamic speakers that present different takes on industry topics.
Return for Day 2 on February 19th for full ornamental horticulture pesticide recertification PLUS nutrient management certification and Maryland’s turf management recertification.
