Calling all Horticulture Professionals…
Join us for Chesapeake Green 2017 – A Horticulture Symposium!
Please note the Greenhouse session on Day 2 is now full - there are plenty of other great sessions to choose from!
Chessie Green, as it is known within the industry, is a two-day event packed full of engaging and informative horticulture education. The symposium will be held on February 23 and 24, 2017 at our new venue, the BWI Hilton in Linthicum. This hotel and conference center is equipped with state of the art technology, as well as gorgeous meeting space we know you will enjoy! Come for the great education and enjoy the networking, vendor showcase, and silent auction (to benefit scholarship).
On Day 1, February 23rd, Lloyd Traven, of Peace Tree Farm LLC, will be serving double duty – presenting the keynote, “867-5309: Are We STILL Sending an 80s Message in the 21st Century?,” and presenting an industry break out session, “Leveraging Edibles.” Friends and fellow horticulturists have called Lloyd a ‘mad scientist’ and ‘plant geek’ due to his passion for growing quality plants matched only by his commitment to using advanced technology combined with sustainable and organic growing techniques. The MNLGA is proud to have Lloyd at Chessie 2017.
Following Lloyd’s keynote, attendees will have the option of participating in any of four concurrent educational tracks, generally divided into nursery grower, greenhouse grower, landscape contractor, and retail garden center.
These concurrent tracks are full of relevant industry information for all levels of employees as well as dynamic speakers that present different takes on industry topics.
Return for Day 2 on February 24th for full ornamental horticulture pesticide recertification PLUS nutrient management certification and Maryland’s turf management recertification.
